What do you do if key components of your supply chain abandon you, or become unavailable due to local, regional, or international catastrophe?  What happens if you lose communications capabilities, or key staff, or even your own office?  What happens if ..?  The questions raised by good Risk Management are almost endless – but they do have an end in mind.

Attendees will learn how to think about the unthinkable, and see how to identify the most important and/or most likely Supply Chain Risks and plan for their mitigation; how to allocate scarce resources for maximum Risk Mitigation; and how to weigh the costs & benefits of Mitigation strategies & tactics.

Principal, Fortress Consulting and ISM 7-Counties Board member.

George is a principal in Fortress Consulting, LLC and an Executive Consultant to the CATTAN Services Group. His previous corporate positions have included North American Manager of Logistics for M-real USA; Manager of Transportation Procurement for Verizon Wireless; Manager of Corporate Sourcing for NBC, and Director of Technical Logistics for NBC Olympics, where he won an Emmy.

George has a BS in Logistics from Penn State, an MBA from NYU, and has earned three logistics certifications: the CTL (Certified in Transportation & Logistics) from the American Society of Transportation & Logistics (AST&L), the CPIM (Certified in Production & Inventory Management) from APICS, and his lifetime C.P.M. from ISM. George’s professional activities include holding various local and national offices in a variety of professional Supply Chain organizations. He is currently the Treasurer of both ISM-7 Counties and the ISM NY/NJ Forum; was the final Chairman of AST&L and managed its merger into APICS last year, joining the APICS Board as a result of the merger; and previously served AST&L as Vice Chairman, President, Chairman, Secretary, and Program V.P.
