Dear ISM 7-Counties Member,
As your President, I have some good news, and some bad news, to share with you.
First, the Good News: Our next two dinner meetings will be FREE to ISM-7 members, and held on April 19 (our 11th annual “Are You Smarter Than A Supply Chainer” interactive meeting) and on May 17 (Top Management Night). Plus, this year’s Pat Scalzo Memorial College Scholarship program will be greatly expanded (applications available at our website).
And now, the Bad News: these three events will be our final activities. It is with a heavy heart that I share — effective July 31, 2018 — that we must dissolve ISM 7-Counties. This was not an easy decision by your Board, but an unavoidable one based on declining membership, lower meeting attendance, and the ongoing challenges of reduced corporate support, increased member workloads, and the overall displacement of manufacturing facilities and headquarters from the 7 Counties area. Accordingly, this email will serve as official notice to all members of our 2018 Annual Meeting, to be held at 6 pm in conjunction with our May 17 dinner meeting at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, at which members may formally vote on the issue of dissolution.
We have already notified the ISM National office of our decision. What this means for you is that you either have received a National membership renewal that does not include dues for a local ISM affiliate, or you will very soon. Either way, we encourage you to continue your professional journey by renewing your ISM membership and joining the nearest neighboring ISM affiliate that makes sense for your work and/or home location:
- ISM New Jersey: https://www.ismnj.org
- ISM New York City: http://www.ismny.com
- ISM Connecticut: ismct.org
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you as President over the past three years, and I’ve enjoyed getting to know some of the best and brightest minds in the business. I hope to see you at future ISM National and local events.
On behalf of the Board, we thank you all for your years of membership and support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
